According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 22.6 square miles 58.5 km², of which, 22.2 square miles 57.5 km² of it is land and 0.4 square miles 1.0 km² of it 1.73% is water. It is drained by the Delaware River, which separates it from New Jersey. Its villages include Bucksville, Fehrtown, Ferndale, Frogtown, Harrow, Kintnersville also in Durham Township, and Revere.
