Elections to the United States House of Representatives held in 1902 occurred in the middle of President Theodore Roosevelts first term, about a year after the assassination of President William McKinley in September 1901.

In connection with the increase in the size of the home and redistribution as a result of the US census of 1900, the Republican party and the Democratic party won places at the same time that did not happen in any election. Democrats increased their share in the house, but not enough to regain control.

With a stable economy no question is the cornerstone of democratic gains in the majority of cases can be associated with the consequences of the districts. Many of the new places in areas with a high number of immigrants, mainly Eastern and southern European industrial workers and farmers of Northern Europe, new immigrants prefer to vote Democrat. The populist party disappeared from the house, with its supporters almost unanimously the transition to the Democratic party.

The elections marked the third and last time in American history where the incumbent presidents party gained seats in a midterm election yet lose the Senate seat, the first two being in 1814 and 1822.
