African-American Baseline Essays

The African-American Baseline Essays are a series of educational materials commissioned in 1987 by the Portland public school district in Portland, Oregon and compiled by Asa Grant Hilliard III, intended to "provide information about the history, culture, and contributions of Africans and African-Americans in the disciplines of Art, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Music," to "be used by teachers and other District staff as a reference and resource just as adopted textbooks and other resources are used" as part of "a huge multicultural curriculum-development effort."

                                               

The American Field Trip

The American Field Trip is an educational film series that explores unique places of interest across the USA. Episode titles include Exploring Marine Biology, at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California, and Exploring Space Technology at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Texas. The series won a CINE competition Golden Eagle award in 1995. The series is produced by film maker James Myer.

                                               

Assignment cover sheet

An assignment cover sheet is a paper used by students when completing assignments at university for their courses. These coversheets generally contain metadata about the assignment. This aids the efficient handling of assignments. Other types of data may be included, depending on the needs of the course. Some universities require and/or provide cover sheets in standardized formats. These are often in the form of computer files which a student can download, print, and personalize. Book-and-record sets are a form of entertainment for children, consisting of a picture storybook and an accompanying recording to be played while following along with the book. The record and book complement one another, with the record usually a radio theater-style version of the story or a soundtrack recording, and the book providing visuals and text to the story. Cheat sheet

A cheat sheet or crib sheet is a concise set of notes used for quick reference. Cheat sheets are so named because they may be used by students without the instructors knowledge to cheat on a test. However, at higher levels of education where rote memorization is not as important as in basic education, students may be permitted to consult their own notes during the exam which is not considered cheating.
