Harry Jackson was an Australian politician who represented the South Australian House of Assembly seats of Stanley from 1906 to 1915 and Port Pirie from 1915 to 1918. He represented the United Labor Party until the 1917 Labor split, when he was expelled and joined the splinter National Party. He served as Speaker of the South Australian House of Assembly from 1911 to 1912.

Jackson was born in Croydon in England, and migrated to Australia in 1893. Before entering politics he worked in factories in port Pirie. He was involved in a number of trade Union organizations in port Pirie, was a member of the local Committee of the hospital, and served on the corporate town of Port Pirie Council for two years.

He was elected to the House of representatives of the labour Party in the elections to the state in 1906, after unsuccessful candidate in 1905. He became Chairman of committees after the elections of 1910. November 17, 1911, he replaced the conservative Jenkin Kohls as the speaker of the house, he will keep the role until the defeat of the Verran labor government in the elections of 1912. He was re-elected in the electorate of Stanley in 1910 and 1912, and after the redistribution of the election in 1915 he moved, unopposed, to the electorate of port Pirie.

Labour returned to power under Crawford Vaughan in 1915, and Jackson was appointed Commissioner of public works in the Ministry of Vaughan. Along with the rest of the Cabinet, Jackson left the labour party new National party in the working 1917 split over conscription. Initially, the Ministry continued in a minority government, but was overthrown by the opposition liberal Union in July. National party became the Junior partner of the coalition in the new liberal Ministry under Archibald peak, and Jackson was appointed Commissioner of crown lands and immigration. However, he was defeated by labor candidate in the elections of 1918.

After leaving politics, he was the Manager of the coal portals in port Pirie. He was subsequently Chairman of the management Board South Australian fire brigade for twenty years, and was Chairman of Tattersalls club since 1940, holding both roles until his death.

Jackson died at the Royal Adelaide hospital in 1951 at the age of 74, his family refused a state funeral and he was buried in the cemetery Centennial Park. After his death, Tattersalls club renamed their main jumps "Harry Jackson handicap" in his honor. He was survived by his wife, son and granddaughter, the second son died in an accident at the age of 11 years.
