The District Council of Hallett was a local government area in South Australia from 1877 to 1997.

The Council was proclaimed on 13 September 1877, which represents hundreds of Hallett, the establishment of a Council of eight members, divided into four compartments. The first meeting took place in Manns hotel in Hallett on September 24. It was expanded at the expense of the district councils act 1887 to include hundreds of Tomkinson and part of the hundred of Hallett based in the initial proclamation.

The Council voted in 1928 to establish a Council to replace the camera in the new building of the Institute Hallett for £500.

It has incorporated the neighbouring district Council of Terowie on may 1, 1935. On 21 may 1935 he got the part of Anne and Ayers wards abolished the district Council of Booborowie, which will be formed a new Willalo ward, he added Cappeedee of the parish at this time. The changes resulted in a seven-ward system in 1935, with one Councilor from each of Bunbury, Cappeedee, Hallett, Terowie township, white Willalo wards.

In 1936, it was reported to cover an area of 300 square kilometers, with 484 residents, 150 of them taxpayers.

He existed before January 23, 1997, when it was merged with the district Council of Burra-Burra, Eudunda district Council and district Council of Robertstown to create the Regional Council of Goyder.
